Most of the terror that we see in Iraq today came with the US invasion.

Cheney have said war on terror will be a long war.

The US have for over 100 years made a lot of nation’s people angry for its meddling and crimes against them. So it has its huge share of enemies.

The US administration have made it clear they will fight their war in Iraq in order to save US people from going thru what Iraqis are going thru today.

That is why I want an Iraqi government who is strong in the meaning that it will tell ANY US administration take your war of terror elsewhere. We are NOT willing to scarify Iraqis for you any longer.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: How many? (asking about how many terrorists are there in Iraq?)

AMBASSADOR L. PAUL BREMER: I think for the American people to understand ·· well, probably several hundred, probably several hundred. And I think most Americans understand that it's better for us to fight and win this war here than to have to fight it on the streets of the United States.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: You know, you've said that before. And I want to now play something that you've said, and also President Bush and General Sanchez, along those same lines and get you to respond. Let me put it up right now.

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH (From video): There are some who feel like the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is, bring them on. We've got the force necessary to deal with the security situation.

GENERAL JOHN ABIZAID (From video): This is what I would call a terrorist magnet where American being present here in Iraq creates a target of opportunity, if you will, but this is exactly where we want to fight them. We want to fight them here, we're prepared for them, and this will prevent the American people from having to go through other attacks back in the United States.

AMBASSADOR L. PAUL BREMER: It's the kind of thing that we've seen before in so many places, and it's something that we have to beat, and I must say, I think we must now defeat it here in Iraq, better to fight it here than to fight it somewhere else like the United States.

Very nice. I've been looking for the "we want to use Iraq as a battleground" quotes for some time. Thanks a lot.

So, I guess that sums it up, your pro terrorism! Just what do you think is going to happen, if the "occupiers" leave tomorrow.

As I heard an American soldier say, its terrible to be in a foreign country, fighting for fellow humans created by god and those people cant understand that your risking your life to save theirs.

Saddam is gone because of these people who you now clam are your enemies. Its your fellow Muslims that are raising havoc! You dont see Christians or Jews going to extremes fighting a holy war! Catholics arent killing Orthodox.

Do you realize what a strain it is to go to a country and fight for people that you know nothing about? How hard it is to be away from your family for a year with little contact? To be in a country where you cant speak the language and your not sure who is with you or against you? Not knowing from one day to the next if you will be blown to death by a road side bomb or a human bomb? Do you think these American Soldiers are there on a vacation?

Wake up Iraq! Open your eyes to see, its not America thats causing you pain. Its your own fellow Muslims. Would you like American Forces to leave and let the terrorists make Iraq another Afghanistan? Women fully veiled, no women or girls to attend school(not even the basic skills of reading or writing), men forced to fight for something they see is wrong! Cant you see this is what would happen to Iraq? When women and girls there now are afraid not to vail themselves and go out in public. They are scared to be killed or abducted from Islamic terrorists(I read this from Baghdad Treasure's blog). Is this what Iraq wants?

Im not in any way downing anyones religion, but its this is a war fought with ISLAMIC TERRORISTS! I cant sit and watch you condemn my friends and family that are in Iraq fighting against the people who are making all of our lives hell.

Do you honestly believe that those American Soldiers who have been or still are in Iraq are living a life any better than yours? Those who are there live the SAME daily life that your living, those who were fortunate enough to make it back to America alive, cant get Iraq out of their mind! They have so much post traumatic stress that its sometimes unbearable!

Please, tell me, what would you do if your situation was being an AMERICAN SOLDIER today?

I suppose its alot easier to blame an American than to realize where the true fault lies!

Scarlett, US troops in Iraq represent the US adminstration. The US administration is NOT an honest broker in Iraq; becouse of its history there and elsewhere too. Today US toops are a problem in Iraq, and they are the reason for many problems Iraq never had before. Thats why the majority of Iraqis want them out and/or they want a time table for them leaving. Even our PM talked about this last week.

So I suggest you take your own advice:

Wake up and realize your troops commit war crimes in Iraq. Demand your government to take them home. They have been in Iraq for 3 years and have clearly shown they DO things only wrose.

>Please, tell me, what would you do if your situation was being an AMERICAN SOLDIER today?

I would lay down my weapon and refuse to fight a war based on lies. I would join the Iraqi veterans against the war and tell the whole world about the war crimes the US army is commiting in Iraq. Then I would start working for a revolution in the US, its time for a new political system!

Scarlett,

Come on there, have you graduated from High School yet, dear?

Why don't you read some of what the columnists in US newspapers have been saying about Iraq rather than watching General Hospital or checking for news from the National Enquirer.

Two Iraqi women were killed by US soldiers today "by mistake". Who caused their pain? Hmm?

One of them was pregnant.

Docs tried to save the unborn baby. They couldn't.

So, why dont you go preach some of your racist shit to the father of the unborn child and the mother's kin.

Also, she left behind two young children.

Or better yet. Why don't you help bury them and look into the eyes of those killed by your misguided patriotism.

At 9:44 pm, Blogger Scarlett said...

Yeah, as you said it by mistake! As sure as there is a war there will be mistakes and im not even going to say that all soldiers are what they should be.

I do feel pity for Iraqi's.

My point that everyone seems to miss was that (im not agreeing with the US administration. Im not in any position to be running a country.) the soldiers are taking the fall for everything. How many do you think they actually like the atmosphere in Iraq?

As you say "lay down your weapon and refuse to fight", well, it seems now thats an issue.....its becoming either kill or be killed. Treason is not how this country operates. I for one wouldnt lay down my weapon at anytime in a country where every man has made it clear that he hates my presence! That weapon would be my best friend.

The terrorists claim that they want American troops out of Iraq, but is it a misunderstanding? Wouldnt it make sense if there were no bombs, abductions or a terrorist on every corner whats the reason USA should still be there?

Thats my point, its not Americans that are trying to be the enemy! We want our Husbands, Wives, Children, Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and FRIENDS back in America as bad as Iraqi's seems to want them out.

Not once did I mention being in favor of the Americans being in Iraq. Simply stated, if they hadnt been there maybe something worse could have or still may happen, I cant tell you the future. I guess none of us will ever have known what could have happened.

Take it for what its worth, I am not your enemy!

Scarlet the US army is NOT helping in Iraq, it is making things worse. You yourself are aware Iraqis don’t want you there. Just read what TAI wrote today US troops shoot a pregnant woman they killed her and her unborn baby.

Why should we allow you to continue to commit these crimes?

Some say its mistakes. I say what the hell you are talking about, according to that Saddam could soon be arguing that too. Or his people might have been under stress.

Don’t you realize what you are asking us Iraqis to agree too? Let me invade the US because I believe the US is a threat to world peace and does not respect human rights or international law. What would you do if I started killing people and then call it “mistakes” “under stress” “not my fault” or the one that I have been hit with today “we are just kids, don’t blame us”? Its wrong Scarlet, terribly wrong.

"As you say "lay down your weapon and refuse to fight", well, it seems now thats an issue.....its becoming either kill or be killed. Treason is not how this country operates. I for one wouldnt lay down my weapon at anytime in a country where every man has made it clear that he hates my presence! That weapon would be my best friend."

Do you hear what you are saying Scarlet? You would rather fight a war based on lies and be a war criminal then lay down your weapon. Now here is the biggest problem of the US army.

As for laying down your weapon you say that you would be afraid to do, why not do it in the US army base? No one asked you to do it in the market in Basrah.

You better start understanding Scarlet, that I will never agree to that Iraqis should be sacrificed in a war that really should have been fought in your own streets. Read the quotes that I have in my post, it says it all.

Sorry, dear, is As the World Turns over?

Iraqis want you out. Get it. Iraqis.

I am Iraqi and I am telling you get out.

If a US soldier dies in Iraq, gee sorry, but he put himself there, he invaded Iraq and he got what was coming to him.

If a virus invades the human body, anti-bodies (is this lingo too difficult for you) surround the virus and eat it to death.

If on a nuclear level this is how our bodies operate, what do you expect in the macrocosm?

If I came into your house, pushed you around, killed your pregnant sister and then said "I did it all for YOUR freedom" what would you do?

Sheesh, enough of this racist mumbo-jump.

We don't need your stinkin pity. Save it for the Katrina victims.

[scarlett] “So, I guess that sums it up, your pro terrorism!”

Hmm.

Maybe you’re right.

Maybe Nadia SHOULD be grateful that the US chose her country to fight Al Qaeda in. After all fighting terrorism is a good thing.

So, let’s overthrow the US government. Let’s make the USA the “terrorist magnet of the world” Let’s attract every cross-eyed radical with an axe to grind to Texas or Florida, and then we can fight the good fight against them. Yep, every suicide bomber and drug cartel and gibbering religious fanatic, all in the US. And Americans will of course understand if some of their brothers, sisters and pregnant wives are accidentally killed in the fight against this menace. Americans will understand that, even though they have no part in say, the fight between FARC and the Columbian government, or Sri Lanka and the Tamils … that the “fight against terrorism” makes it all worth it.

Wow, imagine how grateful Americans would be to have us “fight terrorism” on US soil.

Yeah, they’ll be ecstatic, when entire city blocks are bombarded to “get Zarqawi”.

Iraqis are just weird, not to want you to fight your fight on their soil.

[scarlet] “I for one wouldnt lay down my weapon at anytime in a country where every man has made it clear that he hates my presence! […] We want our Husbands, Wives, Children, Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and FRIENDS back in America as bad as Iraqi's seems to want them out.”

Then, may I politely ask, what is still keeping the US in Iraq, given that you acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of Iraqis want the US out? (This impression is correct, btw. All polls have shown that over 85% of Iraqis support the idea of a withdrawal timetable for the US). The same as you feel soldiers cannot put their weapons down, Iraqis feel that they cannot stop fighting, or their country and honour is lost.

The question though, is: who started this fight?

Who has the onus to stop the fight?

Who is the invader?

I can concede that there are some soldiers that “want to do the right thing”. But the fact remains that they are tools. Tools of a foreign policy agenda that is EVIL. There’s no other way to put it. Personally I feel that the leaders that put them there are as, if not more, responsible for the carnage that they cause and are subjected to. However, those same leaders are completely unaccountable for the actions that they have set in motion. So it’s the little guys that pay for it, as usual.

On a personal level I could probably relate to a lot of those soldiers. I read some milblogs and thought to myself, “crap, that could be me writing that.” On the other hand, TAI is right. Nice people or not, they are responsible for the devastation that wracks Iraq. They are the virus. And they will be ejected. I can only hope that the people who used them for such an immoral policy are held to account for their deeds after this is over.

Bruno,

Thanks for your reply to my comment. Your formation of words without a harsh tone will help people understand Iraqi's feelings a little better.

As I said before, im not anyones enemy and as I was accused of before I am also not at all racist. I would befriend an Iraqi as well as any other nationality in the world. Matter of fact I do have Iraqi friends who I chat with on a daily basis.

I am sorry to everyone who saw me racist yesterday. I just felt overwhelmed yesterday when I read how people imply that all Americans are bad. I hear stories from my friends who were there and how some of them say they never pulled the trigger when they should have because they couldnt live with making a mistake. In other words, they knew it was someone to cause harm to them but they decided to take the chance of death themselves rather than taking the slim chance they were wrong. I decided that id try to put myself in Iraq's shoes.

Please dont see it as I dont understand how any Iraqi feels. I can understand harsh feelings to a point.

I also feel that no US soldier who initially entered Iraq knew it would be like it is now. I think it definitely hasnt gone as planned. All Little peon Americans like myself were under the impression that ousting Saddam was the goal, but after his capture it was total Terror. Apparently Bush had a different Idea.

I do have a question, and id like to hear your view. Whats the reason that Northern Iraq (Kurdistan) seems so calm? 3-4 Years ago, I heard alot about Kurdistan, now I never hear it mentioned. Why have they become so calm while the rest of Iraq is living in fear?

I pray for Iraq so when US Forces are gone, the terror stops.

Again I apologize!

Scarlett, awwwwwwwww we all feel sorry for your venomous words.

Do you see the tears dangling on my eyelids?

You said I just felt overwhelmed yesterday when I read how people imply that all Americans are bad..

No one said that. It is the US military IN Iraq that has become corrupted. No one said all Americans are bad, only the ones who support the war, who rejoice for the killing of Iraqis.

Let's see Scarlett, are you afraid of the truth? Go to a Yahoo News Story on the killing of the pregnant woman and her cousin. Scroll down to the end of the article to where you see the item DISCUSS a tool placed by Yahoo for readers to discuss the article at hand.

Then proceed to read the comments of some Americans. Some were saying the pregnant woman got what she deserved. Others said US soldiers should have stomped on her stomach.

So, instead of bringing your questions here, why dont you take them there? Why dont you ask your compatriots why they have such hatred for a place none of them have ever visited and a peoples none of them have ever seen?

Furthermore, a majority of the US soldiers who entered Iraq believed it was payback for 9-11, so please stop spreading your self-righteous bullshit about helping the Iraqi people.

A father of a 911 victim asked US troops to carry the flag that fell over the WTC that day when they went to Iraq?

Why? We had nothing to do with 911, but you are led by an evil presidency that convinced you otherwise.

When the invasion of iraq happened in 2003 71% of the American Public believed Iraq was directly responsible for 911.

Don't pray for Iraq. Pray God enlighten you with wisdom so that you may understand right from wrong.

As for Northern Iraq, Mosul - which is not part of Kurdistan - is on fire daily by killings and kidnappings. In the Kurdistan areas, Assyrian villages are being ethnically cleansed, Turkmen are targeted but you won't hear about that because the perpetrators are the Peshmerga, allies of the US.

Why is Iraqi Kurdistan more prosperous? They have their own army my dear, the US never went after anyone there - except for Ansar Al Sunna which was conveniently created in areas under Kurdish, not Baathist control.

The kurds want to become independent of Iraq and most Kurds are loyal to that goal.

Furthermore, Iran has very little clout in Iraqi Kurdistan but very much of it elsewhere.

Therefore, no one is stirring the shit in Iraqi Kurdistan despite the ethnic cleansing there.

But don't me misled. Arbil and Kirkuk see violence every now and then. No place in Iraq is violence-free.

They have effectively removed themselves from the rest of Iraq and are not an occupied entity.

You were under the impression ousting Saddam was the goal? Not being very honest there are we. What happened to those three letters y'all became experts in - W M D?

How odd ...

See this is what I mean! No matter how nice I try to be or how I try to understand. Everything I say is made corrupt, even if its meant to be something totally the opposite.

I am an American by birth, I didnt chose to be American just as you hadnt chosen to be Iraqi.

I am a 30 year old divorced woman not knowing my own way in this world.

I initially posted not expecting the reply that I received from the post. I do admit that im not the best to be debating your country with you. Is it so bad that your teaching me things that I didnt know?

"Scarlett, awwwwwwwww we all feel sorry for your venomous words." Whats that mean? What venomous words? DId I call anyone a name? Did I slander anyone in Iraq?

Im the one who's racist? Who may call me racist when every reply just about says WE HATE YOU?

I have nothing to do with this war. I didnt call up Bush and say hey, lets stir up some trouble! Hell, I dont even vote, so thats way out of my hands!

As for 9/11, maybe some do feel the way you stated, but as for me, I know there is a difference Islam and proclaimed Islam. In a country where religion is primarily Christianity. Not knowing much at all about Islam. Is there a chance that Christians dont understand the difference of the proclamation?

Ill let you in on a little secret! I fell in love with an Iraqi Muslim man last year, I flew through all the dangers to get there with him. We had alot of plans but in the end.....I couldnt stay there and he couldnt come with me. If it were not for the terror and hate of me there, I would have been glad to be there with him. You know where he is now? Dead.....accused of being a spy for Americans.

So, ok, tell me how racist I am. I dont give my support for this war, its for my friends who havent a choice!

Slam me all you want if that makes you feel better. By the way......I didnt ask to see the tears dangling from your eyelids! I dont expect them from you! You seem to me that your cold heart wont shed a tear for anyone but you! Before you turn that statement around into something it wasnt intended to be, let me clarify, im talking about YOU as a human, not You as an Iraqi!

I dont want your nice - I want your sense of justice, dammit. This isn't a popularity or beauty contest.

See, when are you going to stop this - you cannot accept criticism, you cannot accept that what you believed was wrong or that the US military is barbaric.

You just can't. You were programmed, conditioned to believe everyone else is wrong and the US is always right.

SO any criticism becomes hatred - you start to convince yourself that "THEY" "HATE" "US".

That's pathetic.

No one hates you, not at all. Many still look to the US for guidance. And it routinely has in the past 6 years let them down.

Why is it that immediately after 911 the entire world stood with you?

Why? And why is it that when you invaded Iraq the whole world stood against you? Is it because they hated America? Or is it because they hated American foreign policy.

I don't hate you Scarlett, I don't even know you. But I hate the sea of ignorance you swim in.

You want my heart to be all fluffy and snuggly and Downy soft?

Tell me how. If you have a way for my heart to be unburdened tell me how.

We Iraqis are a fiercely compassionate people. You have no idea. We are a peoples who have thrived in the arts, poetry, music, fashion. I come from a family of painters and sculptors.

We express ourselves, we endear ourselves to our families, to our homes, to our gardens, to our relatives, to our friends.

But in the last three years since this vile war began, everything we have ever had has disintegrated. Everything. Iraqis living in Iraq - God help them - are scarred beyond belief. They have seen everything lost.

SO much so that even those who once hated Saddam wish he was never deposed. Not because they love him, but because there was stability and security in Iraq.

Now, when our children go to school we dont know if they will ever come back, or be kidnapped, or killed, or sold into white slavery.

Now, when our mothers go to the marketplace to buy common vegetables we do not know if they will return or come back in bits and pieces.

Our men are not safe. Our women are not safe. We can no longer even practise supports.

Iraq a country that excelled at football - we now have Sadr telling us it is an evil zionist sport.

Women who do not wear the veil are either killed or have their heads shaved in humiliations.

Men who wear shorts are killed.

Men who wear goatees are killed.

Sunnis are killed, Shia are killed, Turkmen are killed, Sabaeans are killed. Mosques and churches are attacked.

Tell me how do you want my heart to be?

Please explain to us. Judging from your comments you seem to be a combination of a racist and someone with the Bush- mentality “either you’re with us or you’re against us”. You do NOT seem like a person who cares about Iraqis at all.

This is exactly what I was asking about. Its not America who is Killing for this reason. Its how it was in Afghanistan, wasnt it? Im trying to ask a question here, dont feel its criticism please. Do you think this will continue if America forces pack up and leave? There are more people killed by a bomb than by military mistakes, Right? If all of these things were not happening, I feel that the American people would in no way shape of form support any military personnel in Iraq.

You speak to me with a tone that belittles me, how can you expect that I cant see any dislike for me in that tone?

As for your heart, ill tell you how I want it to be. I want you to open it up with warmth and embrace me as your friend not thinking always that im an enemy. Dont let this evil world make your heart stone. Hope that Iraq can mend and the children will have a safe place to live because of your sacrifice.
