What sort of people do criminals surround themselvs with?

I saw a documentary about a Swedish man who had served his sentence in prison for crimes committed. Now afterwards he wants to live a normal life, contribute to society in a correct way.

Once when he was sitting having dinner with friends the filmmaker asked him “aren’t you afraid that criminals/criminal gangs will lure you back?” His friend comes in and wants to answer and says that criminal gangs would not want him in their team. He would be a burden and a threat to them. Because now he has started thinking about what’s right and wrong. And that’s NOT the sort of person criminals want around them.

Bush and the team have acted as a bunch of criminal liars when it comes to the war against Iraq. They sold the war based on lies, deceit and propaganda. So what sort of Iraqis would they surround themselves with?

Last night I saw a video Baghdad a doctor's story filmed by an Iraqi doctor at Al-Yarmouk Hospital. The hospital’s staff are all so brave. It is people like them that represent Iraq to me.

This I can bet my life upon: Kind-hearted honest Iraqis like the 3 ambulance staff and the Iraqi surgeon would have saved the whole nation and put it back on a healthy path way back in summer 2003, had they been given the chance to rule Iraq.

That’s not, however, the sort of people the criminals at the white house and the green zone wish to surround themselves with.

Hi Annie, love having you over here!

An off topic thing. Regarding the interesting thing you wrote at 24 about the corporations etc. I remember reading about a coupe sponsored by corporations that failed in the US but don’t remember more. Can you please help me out here?

It’s just a few years ago I learned about it and I was really surprised that US companies we know today were part of the coop to get rid of a US president. The thing I read was that it failed. But with what we know today about corporations influence over US politics I would say they won.

Now back to topic: “water seeks it's own level. Criminals seek the company of other criminals.”

So true indeed. A person I would love to have run Iraq is Faiza at http://afamilyinbaghdad.blogspot.com/. Now there is an Iraqi woman that would put things right if she was given the chance to manage Iraq. You do remember she went to the US congress to meet with US politicians who voted for the war. And what did they do? They were cowards did not come and listen to her testimony over what is happening in Iraq. But when Chalabi comes or any other of their Iraqi puppets then they show up. Criminals seek the company of other criminals indeed.

As the Nuremberg Tribunal concluded after World War II: "War is essentially an evil thing ... To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime, it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole."

The Merriam-Webster Online dictionary describes the word “genocide” (http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/p_genoci.htm) as “the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group”. According to international law “genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”

Since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq, academics working at universities and hospitals have been specifically singled out for attack. Dr. Issam al-Rawi, geography professor, member of the Association of Muslim Scholars and chair of the Iraqi Association of University Lecturers, has reported that over 250 academics and professors have been assassinated, and many others have disappeared. The list of those killed includes Arabs, Kurds, Sunni Muslims, Shiite Muslims, and Christians: scientists and academics from all backgrounds. In response to these killings and general unrest, it is estimated that an additional 1,000 scientists have fled the country.

Yesterday morning we lost a great man: Dr Issam Al-Rawi, a geology scientist and in the same time a moderate Sunni who used to make the gap between the Sunnis and Shiites leading personalities smaller.

My condolences to his family and all Iraqis. :(
