Nadia, Thank you. I was deeply saddened by this video, but I learned a lot, too. It's horrable that people have to live like that, in fear and with so much sorrow. Especially when so many people ar so much better off.
It’s indeed very sad and heartbreaking. Nowadays in Iraq you get killed for what ever reason.
Before you could stay alive if you kept out of criticising Saddam and his ruling methods. Nowadays you could just be killed for having the wrong name, the wrong shop, the wrong clothes, the wrong look, and the wrong nothing and still get killed. So I don’t see that people have it much better now.
Last night I got an sms from a relative and she is now with rest of her closest family in Cairo. My heart is beating so fast, one of sadness that Iraq has turned into what it is today but also a huge relief that they made it out. But then I think of all those who are still in Iraq and what about all the kids in orphanages; who thinks of giving them a visa to a safer place :(
I wish more people would adopt childeren. Maybe when I adopt my own it will be from Iraq. That's a long way off, though.
One can only hope that things will get better before then. Have you heard about President Bush's troop surge that's supposed to happen soon? How do you feel about it?
I, myself, am not to pleased, but that's mostly because they keep shiping the same soldiers over, and it's just wrong. Especially considering all the good it's done (which is not a whole lot, if anything, from what I've heard.)
But I don't have to live over there, so I don't know what will help Iraq. Do you think it would be better if the U.S. withdrew all troops?
I'm just asking because there are so many debates going on over here about what's best for Iraq, but we really can't know. So, what's your opinion?
At the link below I have given some suggestions how to solve the conflict in Iraq.
I have not given a long explanation under each point. So if a suggestion is unclear please fell free to ask what I meant. Also feel free to come with suggestions you too!
